Fall 2019 Newsletter

Dear friends and neighbors,

Although we wouldn’t realize it from the hot weather, Fall is upon us.  This is a good time to perform landscape maintenance and keep up with the falling leaves. While it remains hot we intend to keep the swimming pool open.  We will celebrate Fall with our community “Oktoberfest” family party on the main park grounds September 28th. We expect the Gazebo to be county-certified for use in the very near future.

There have been several instances of speeding through the neighborhood.  Fast moving cars and “laying rubber” marks require us to again address this issue.  The speed limit is 25mph for good reason. We have numerous children playing near the street, speed walkers in the street, and many golf carts lawfully using the streets in our neighborhood. Please observe the speed limit and slow down.

We have noted that many Mailbox numbers are missing and need replacement.  In this regard, we have teamed with a new mailbox repair and replacement company.  Our mailbox partner is The Mailbox Project”.  They offer full service on our Imperial mailboxes.  The can replace numbers, repair damage, perform restoration and even repair broken posts which often is the main damage from accidental hits.  In the next week or so, representatives from the Mailbox Project will assess mailbox issues and then offer a discounted rate for repairs and refurbishment.  They will also replace the outdated stickers inside the box so you will know who to call for service. Meantime they are on the web at http://mailboxproject.net/  and can be reached by phone at 770-535-0036.

We have noted that several homeowners have been keeping mobile homes/travel trailers in their driveways.  All are reminded that the Covenants prohibit permanent storage or parking on the driveways for more than 24 hours.  If there is need for several days of parking, please contact the Board for temporary approval.

Our Finances are in good shape. We currently have $47,722 in the operating account and $45,643 in the Reserve/Contingency account.  This allows sufficient funds to repair/resurface the Tennis Court, repair the retention pond weir, and begin work on the long-delayed Denton Circle landscape project, while retaining a growing reserve account for long term obligations.

Lastly, it is time to consider volunteering for the Board of Directors and other Committee positions.  We plan on holding elections along with our Annual Meeting in December.  More on that as the time approaches.  In the meantime, please indicate your desire to become a board member or other volunteer position by sending an email to [email protected].
